What We Offer

Dynamic training unlike anything you've done before

Most workplace problems aren’t technical. They’re human.

Miscommunication. Low trust. Teams that struggle to adapt. These aren’t gaps you fix with another slide deck or webinar that nobody remembers.

The most effective method isn’t passive learning. It’s doing. That means getting people on their feet, practicing habits to actually change how they work.

We offer the same approach that companies like Google, Pepsi, and Uber have built into their training programs. And it’s grounded in a tradition that dates back thousands of years: theatrical performance.

The world’s top performers don’t wing it. They’ve been trained for it.

The techniques behind great ensemble work help performers build instant trust, sharpen their listening, and adapt confidently in ever-changing situations. These skills translate directly to the workplace in ways that might surprise you.

We draw on the principles of ensemble and improv-based training, not to put anyone on a stage or make them perform, but because these methods are uniquely effective at building real-world communication skills in a way that actually sticks.

Think high performance, not stage performance.

No scripts. No cringe. No trust falls. Just interactive, engaging sessions where your team builds skills they’ll use the next day.

What People Are Saying

How It Works

Frequently Asked Questions

Why improv?

Because work isn’t scripted. It happens in the moment: unexpected questions, shifting priorities, difficult clients. Your team is already adapting on the fly every day. The question is whether they’ve been trained to do it well.

Do we have to perform, or be funny?

Nope! Being funny is not the goal, and nobody is ever put on the spot. The focus is always on collaboration, listening, and real-world communication. Most people are surprised by how quickly it stops feeling unfamiliar and starts feeling useful.

What does a session look like?

People on their feet, practicing communication and collaboration techniques in pairs or small groups, connecting in a way they simply can’t in a traditional classroom setting.

We are experts in building a creative, judgment-free environment where everyone is empowered to join in, minimizing downtime and maximizing participation.

Who We Are

Meet Your Human Trainers

Josh Heimendinger, Founder

I spent 15 years in corporate cybersecurity and the last decade on the improv stage. The overlap was obvious: the skills that make great improvisers make great teammates. Train the Human is my attempt to close that gap, and build a better kind of training for a better kind of world.

Rod Bagheri, Co-Founder

As a faculty professor in the School of Dramatic Arts at USC and an improv teacher for over a decade, I've developed a passion for helping students use the foundational skills of improvisation to complement their vocational training and enrich their lives.
